The running list of gaming deals actually worth your money, every price read off the shop's own page on Friday morning. The standout holds: DOOM: The Dark Ages digital at $39.58, 67% off with six days on Microsoft's counter. Two deals died overnight, Borderlands 4 Deluxe with days of counter warning behind it and the 8BitDo controller's $59.99 without any, both named in the dead list rather than quietly deleted. New on the list, the official Xbox Wireless Controller in Pulse Red at $74 against a $104.95 RRP. Best boxed deal is still Borderlands 4 on disc at $36, down 70%.

What They Are
When a big game lands, I line up what it costs across the Aussie retailers, JB, Big W, Target, Amazon AU, EB and the digital stores, so you can see the cheapest way to grab it on day one.

When They Land
One goes up for each major release worth buying at launch. Ghost of Yotei, the next Final Fantasy, the big Nintendo drops. If it's a game people are pre-ordering, there'll be a guide.

Checked At Publish
Every price is confirmed the day the guide goes up, with the date on it. Prices move, so I say when I checked and tell you to confirm the live price before you buy.
How I Do Deals

I'm not here to talk you into anything. I've got four kids and a mortgage, so I know what a good buy feels like and what buyer's remorse feels like too.

The rule I stick to: only buy what you already wanted. A deal on something you never wanted still costs you money, discount or not. Everything on here is filtered through that.
