This is the running list of gaming deals actually worth your money in Australia, and overnight took two more. The Borderlands 4 Deluxe digital deal at $63.98 has ended, its counter had been warning since Wednesday, and the 8BitDo Pro 3 controller's $59.99 price is gone, its listing is back around $90 this morning. Both are named in the dead list below rather than quietly deleted. The standout holds: DOOM: The Dark Ages at $39.58, which is 67% off a game that came out last May, read off Microsoft's own listing with six days left on their counter. And there's one new row, the official Xbox Wireless Controller in Pulse Red at $74 against a $104.95 RRP.
Every price below was read off the shop's own live product page this morning between 6:23 and 6:28am, with the seller checked on the buybox for every Amazon row. Never a tracker feed. Where a comparison figure is older or comes from the deal community, I say so at the exact spot it appears. Nine deals made the cut today, one of them new. Two came off, and both are named below.
Standout right now
67% off the base game, read off Microsoft's own Australian listing this morning, and re-read again just before this page went up, when the counter had ticked from seven days to six. That's what an honest counter does. This is the big DOOM from May last year, the medieval one with the shield saw, and it reviewed well. Under $40 for a $119.95 game that's barely fifteen months old is the kind of number that usually only shows up years later. Two things to know before you tap buy. It's digital, so there's no disc to lend or sell when you're done. And it's rated R18+ here, so it's one for you, not the kids. Two mornings ago this spot belonged to Hogwarts Legacy at $16.49, and that deal vanished overnight without its listing ever showing an end date. Treat the six days on this one as Microsoft's promise, not mine.
Boxed games
Where the shop shows no struck-through RRP, I don't print a saving, because I'm not going to invent a number they never showed. That's why two rows here carry a price and nothing else.

Borderlands 4 at $36 on disc is the best boxed deal here and it hasn't moved in a week. 70% off a $119.95 ticket, buybox says Amazon AU, and because it's a disc you can lend it or sell it when you're done, which none of the digital deals further down can offer. On the game itself I'm going on what the series is and what reviewers say, not my own hands: four-player co-op looter shooter, easy to drop in and out of in twenty-minute gaps, which is how most parents I know actually play.
Assassin's Creed Shadows has held $47 on every check since 1 August, which for that listing counts as steady, it spent late July bouncing around enough that this page had to correct it once already. Mafia: The Old Country at $54 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A at $68 both held too. The Z-A one is the row I'd point Switch 2 households at, 38% off a Pokémon title that came out last October.
Halo: Campaign Evolved sits at $74 at Big W, read off their own page this morning, no struck RRP so no saving printed. It's a very recent release, so any movement on it is decent instead of dramatic. Worth saying plainly because Halo is a franchise plenty of parents buy for kids: it's MA 15+ here. The deal community has been flagging Target at $74 with a $10 newsletter voucher taking it to $64, and Target block the automated checks I run, so I can't confirm that either way. Worth your own ten seconds if you're buying it this week. Civilization VII at $36 stays the steadiest number on the page, back in stock and sold by Amazon on this morning's read after a stretch of back-orders. Reviews are mixed on how the Switch version runs next to the PC one, so treat it as the one-more-turn-in-bed version, not the definitive one.

Yesterday this section carried the 8BitDo Pro 3 at $59.99, and this morning that listing is back around $90 with Amazon on the buybox instead of 8BitDo's storefront, so it's gone to the dead list below. The replacement is the official Xbox Wireless Controller in Pulse Red at $74, sold by Amazon AU with a $104.95 RRP struck on the listing, which is a real $30.95 off first-party hardware that almost never discounts this far. I cross-checked JB Hi-Fi this morning and their ticket on the same Pulse Red pad is $104, so Amazon is the clear cheapest I can confirm. Every household with an Xbox eventually needs a second controller, usually the day a sibling wants in, and this is the price to do it at rather than the $104.95 you'll pay the week you actually need it. Works on Xbox and PC both.
On the digital stores
This section keeps proving its own warnings. Two mornings ago Hogwarts Legacy died overnight with no end date ever shown. Last night the Borderlands 4 Deluxe deal ended too, but that one at least gave warning: its counter had read one day left since Wednesday, and this page said it could die any hour. It outlived its own counter by about a day, then went. These two were live on Microsoft's own product listings this morning, each opened individually and read off the buy panel. Both are plain links, no commission on either.

Both remaining rows read seven days at the morning check and six when I re-read them just before publishing, and both counters have earned some trust. Indiana's has dropped by exactly the right amount across every check since the start of the month, and DOOM's has gone eight, seven, six on schedule. Six days is still Microsoft's word, not mine, Hogwarts proved a listing can die without ever showing a date. If either game is on your list, the safe read is simple: the price is real this morning, and mornings are all this page promises.
Consoles

The Switch 2 row came off the list yesterday and stays off. For five mornings this page printed Officeworks at $629, because two of the three signals I could check kept saying $629 while my browser's read of the page kept showing an old higher number. Yesterday the balance flipped: the page read $697 and Unavailable Online, and the method that used to confirm the $629 wasn't available at all. One unconfirmable signal is not a price, so the row stays off rather than sit here on faith. If it was $629 when you looked earlier this week, that read was made in good faith and disclosed at the time.
The reason a Switch 2 deal still matters this month hasn't changed: Nintendo has confirmed the RRP goes from $699.95 to $769.95 on 1 September, under four weeks away. Any console price starting with a 6 between now and then is worth taking seriously. Check Officeworks, JB and Big W yourself on the day you're buying, the links here earn me nothing and the shops move these prices around weekly.

The two fresh ones tell the whole story between them. Borderlands 4 Deluxe went the honest way, its counter had been warning since Wednesday, and anyone who bought on that warning saved $95.97 on today's price. The 8BitDo Pro 3 went the other way, no warning at all, the $59.99 offer from 8BitDo's own storefront just isn't there this morning and Amazon's buybox sits at $89.95. Hogwarts Legacy died the same silent death two nights back, $16.49 to $109.95 with no end date ever shown. Nioh 3 died at JB on the weekend and Metroid Prime 4 crept from $68 up to $79 at Amazon, both confirmed off their pages on 5 August. The twelve Xbox rows died back on 1 August and stay listed here because the before-and-after prices are the best argument this page has for buying when you see the number, not the day after.
Prices move fast and this week keeps proving it. Three deals have died on this page in two nights, and only one of them gave any warning. Open the link, look at the live price, and check who's actually selling it. Don't trust a number off any page, mine included.
The longer version. This page has lost three deals in two nights, Hogwarts without warning, the 8BitDo controller without warning, and Borderlands Deluxe with days of counter warning behind it. That's the whole spread of how digital pricing behaves, and it's why every row here carries the day it was checked. Nintendo's $70 RRP rise on 1 September still makes any Switch 2 price starting with a 6 worth grabbing between now and then, just read it off the shop's own page on the day, because I currently can't confirm one myself. The rule I've had here since day one still holds: only buy what you already wanted. A cheap game you never play still cost you money, and a sale you missed on a game you were never going to finish cost you nothing at all.
