You farm, you fish, you decorate, you romance the locals. The twist is that the town is quietly wrong and nobody treats it as a problem. Steam's own description says you grow useful crops like corn, pumpkins, teeth or eyeballs, and that part of the job is stopping the growth of unruly tentacles. It is played as routine rather than as scares, which is a harder tone to hit than it sounds.

It looks the part. Hand drawn visuals in a horror manga style, and dark lofi soundscapes composed by an artist called Dated. There is a turn based combat system, and the important detail for anyone who wants the farming without the fighting is that there is a cozy difficulty setting that Steam describes as a more laid back experience.

Australian pricing is A$25.50, currently A$22.95 with the 10 per cent introductory offer. That offer runs until 25 September our time. Overseas it is US$17.99, 17.99 euro and £15.99.

Kwalee publishes and bills it as the debut game from solo developer Chris Cote. Steam credits Chris Cote as developer and Kwalee as publisher, with a copyright line naming Ill-Advised Records, so solo is Kwalee's framing rather than something the store page confirms. Either way it is a small team's first game.

PC only for now. There are no console versions listed.
