Five days after it launched into Steam Early Access, WARDOGS has passed two million copies sold. Developer Bulkhead and publisher Team17 announced the figure on 15 September, along with an all-time Steam peak of 428,666 concurrent players on 13 September.
The 100 player three-team shooter launched on 10 September and claimed a million sales on day one, so the second million came in about four days. Bulkhead's announcement cites SteamDB for the concurrent player peak, which puts WARDOGS well above most launches this year on PC.
The studio also released a pile of numbers from the opening weekend, counted between 5pm on 10 September and 5am on 14 September UK time. Players racked up 122.2 million kills, 86.1 million headshots and 60.7 million revives, capped 4.6 million towers and earned 188.9 billion XP. Support was the top class by XP at 21.42 per cent, just ahead of Assault and Medic, which Bulkhead reads as players actually working together.
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer called two million in under five days ridiculous and said the studio is still treating it as an Early Access game, reading feedback and fixing things. That tracks with the rough first night the game had on servers, which the studio patched through the launch evening.
The run up was big too. Nearly half a million people joined the August closed beta, and the final pre-launch test peaked at 245,118 concurrent players. WARDOGS reached one million Steam wishlists in August.
The $100K Clip Contest is still running, with US$100,000 in cash for the best clip and in-game cash for the rest of the top 100. WARDOGS is A$54.95 on Steam, and Bulkhead has PS5 and Xbox versions down for 2028 with wishlists open on both stores now.
