LEVEL-5 announced it at its own event, LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II Dream, on 10 September. The English title is Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake, and the teaser site lists it for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Steam, scheduled for a worldwide release in 2027.

That platform list is the story. Layton started on the Nintendo DS in 2007 and the series has stayed on Nintendo hardware and phones ever since. This is the first time it turns up on a PlayStation console, and the first time on Steam.

On the game itself, LEVEL-5 says the characters have been reimagined in 3D, the animations are high resolution and widescreen, and the puzzles are supervised by Akira Tago, whose puzzle books the original games were built around. Languages at launch cover English in both US and UK flavours, Japanese, traditional and simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Korean.

LEVEL-5 is developing and publishing it.

What has not been said: any month, quarter or season inside 2027, any price, any editions, any preorders. There is no Steam store page up yet. Some coverage mentions additional voice acting for new scenes, which is not on LEVEL-5's teaser site, so treat that as unconfirmed.

The teaser video is Japanese language only at this stage. There is no English trailer yet.
