Version 1.0.4 went live on Steam on Monday 7 September, around 1pm our time. The new content is two sub-missions: Beyond Dimensions, which you pick up from an NPC at Fisherman's Point in Mount Obsidian, and From the Far Side of the Moon, which opens up once you've cleared the first one.

Fishing got the most attention. Pocketpair has retuned the difficulty at the Sunreach and World Tree spots, changed how much you get per catch for each bait type, added on-screen control guides and recommended-gear prompts, and put a new option in World Settings that controls fish behaviour during the minigame. So if the minigame drives you up the wall, you can dial it down in your own world rather than put up with it.

Combat and base changes are the sort of thing you notice without reading the notes. Summoned Pals and base Pals now favour the skills that actually hit hardest, backstep behaviour has been adjusted, and players and Pals no longer catch fire from campfires you built yourself. The Palpedia finally has a name search. The default frame cap on PC is now 120. PS5 players can open chat from the radial menu. Server admins get a per-player limit on how many buildings someone can put down. Underneath all that is a long list of crash and progression fixes, including co-op players not joining the host's guild properly, a server crash when sorting Pals, and controls locking up after a connection error during loading.

Palworld hit 1.0 and left Early Access on 9 July this year after two and a half years. It's A$30.76 on Steam right now, 30% off the usual A$43.95. The notes I read are the Steam ones. If you play on console, look for the 1.0.4 version number on your platform before assuming it's landed there too.
