Nintendo dropped its July 2026 upcoming games post on 2 July, running through the Switch 2 and Switch releases the platform-holder wants you to notice. It's a heavier month than June was, with the standout landing on the same day as one of the most beloved JRPG remasters ever made.

Straight into it.

Splatoon Raiders

23 July · Nintendo Switch 2

This is the one. Nintendo pitches it as "an ink-flinging treasure hunt" and it's the first proper single-player-focused Splatoon we've had. You play as the mechanic, exploring the Spirhalite Islands, customising gadgets and ink weapons, and taking on waves of Salmonids. Deep Cut is along for the ride. Matching Deep Cut Joy-Con 2 controllers land on the same day for anyone who wants to lean all the way in. This is Nintendo's biggest single-player-first swing on Splatoon and, if you've got kids who play, the version of the series that finally makes sense at home.

FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster

23 July · Nintendo Switch 2

The other standout, and the reason 23 July is going to be an expensive Thursday. Two classics, one package, brought forward to Switch 2. Tidus, Yuna, Spira, the summoning cycle, all of it. If you've never played X, or you've been waiting for the excuse to go back, this is the excuse. Sharing a launch day with Splatoon Raiders is either brave or a scheduling accident, but you can only play one at a time anyway.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

30 July · Nintendo Switch 2

The Titans are back and they look better than ever. Nintendo's given Xenoblade Chronicles 2 the Switch 2 treatment: 4K in TV mode, smoother frame rates, and additional content including a new action battle mode, a rare Blade and Blade quest, plus new equipment designs. For anyone who bounced off the original because performance struggled, this is a real second chance at one of the deepest JRPGs on the platform.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok

9 July · Nintendo Switch 2

An action RPG that's already got a solid reputation on other platforms, now hitting Switch 2. Four-character parties, distinct combat styles per character, and quests that work solo, local or online. If Splatoon Raiders' co-op piques your interest and you want something meatier for the same team, this is worth a look a fortnight earlier.

Digimon Story Time Stranger

10 July · Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

The turn-based Digimon RPG format continues. Collect, raise, evolve, fight. Nintendo's tagline is "the mystery of the world's collapse" which tells you the tone leans dramatic rather than kid-friendly. Cross-generation release, so it works on both Switches.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit

16 July · Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

The sequel to the original Cozy Grove. Ghost bears, a bustling campsite to customise, and the "kindness rules" pace that made the first one a bedtime-wind-down game. Not for everyone, but if you're on Team Stardew-and-Animal-Crossing, this slots straight in.

Denshattack!

16 July · Nintendo Switch 2

A gravity-defying train that flips, tricks and grinds its way across a colourful dystopia. Yes, really. It's a Tony Hawk-style score-attack game where the board is a train. The trailer looks the part. Wildcard of the month.

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

16 July · Nintendo Switch 2

Enhanced resolution, higher frame rate, new modes and challenges, plus form correction via CameraPlay if you've got the Nintendo Switch 2 camera. GameShare support means one console can share the workout to a mate. Genuinely useful for anyone using their Switch 2 as a fitness tool.

Rhythm Paradise Groove

2 July · Nintendo Switch

Already out. A revival of the Rhythm Paradise / Rhythm Heaven series with new original music from Japanese producer Tsunku♂. Note this one's on original Switch, not Switch 2, and it's the only July release still shipping to the older console solo. Good pick-up-and-play with the kids if that's your kind of chaos.

That's the nine. Nintendo notes there are more games coming to both Switch 2 and Switch beyond this list, and that all dates were accurate at time of the post but subject to change.
