A cosy farming and life sim with fangs. Moonlight Peaks lets you play a vampire fixing up the family homestead, and it lands on Switch, Switch 2 and PC on Tuesday.
Moonlight Peaks arrives on 7 July for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC on Steam, with an Android version on Google Play Games the same day. It is made by Amsterdam studio Little Chicken Game Company. If you like the cosy farming and life-sim lane but want something with a bit more of an edge, this is aiming straight at that.
You play a vampire moving back into your family's old homestead in the town of Moonlight Peaks. It runs the usual cosy-sim loop, growing magic crops, keeping livestock and decorating a gothic home, then layers on supernatural touches like spellcasting and shapeshifting, plus a cast of witches, werewolves and other night creatures to befriend and date.
On pricing it is US$34.99 on Switch and PC, and US$39.99 for the dedicated Switch 2 Edition, with the local Australian price not confirmed yet. There is already a free demo up on Steam and the Switch eShop, covering character creation, some magical mini-games and a first look at the town, so you can try it before launch.
The reason I flagged this one is that cosy sims are the games I reach for to wind down once the house goes quiet. Short sessions, nothing punishing, and the vampire spin gives it a bit of personality that this lane can lack. It is also an easy one to sit and play alongside the kids.
