Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is running a global open beta on PS5 and PC from 24 to 26 July, Pacific Time, which for us in Australia means it lands roughly a day later on the calendar. Exact start times haven't been published yet. There's no invite and no registration this time, unlike the earlier closed tests. PS5 players grab it from the PlayStation Store, PC players from Steam or the Epic Games Store. You'll need a PSN account on PC, but no PS Plus subscription is required to play.

If you've missed this one so far, it's the 4v4 tag team fighter from Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear, built with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games. It launches 6 August on PS5 and PC.

The other piece of news is the roster is now complete. The fifth and final team, the Samurai Outriders, was revealed to close out Evo in Las Vegas: Ghost Rider (the Robbie Reyes version), Blade, Loki and Deadpool, with Asgard confirmed as a stage. That locks the launch roster at 20 fighters across five teams of four. Blade joins the playable line-up for the open beta alongside the fighters from the earlier closed tests.

Fighting games have quietly become one of the best fits for a parent's schedule. Matches run a few minutes, you can stop after any round, and the kids will absolutely hang around to watch Deadpool and Ghost Rider go at it. A free beta weekend is the cheapest possible way to find out if this one clicks in your house.
