Kirby and the World Beyond closed out the big first-party reveals in the Direct. It's the first Kirby built as a properly free-roaming 3D game, it's Switch 2 only, and Nintendo says spring 2027, which is autumn for us.
Nintendo's description is short: a free-roam 3D adventure where you explore a wide world and use Kirby's Copy Abilities in creative ways to get around and solve problems. Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2022 was 3D but ran on fairly tight linear levels. This looks like the next step, with a lot more room to wander. The trailer shows Kirby floating over big open landscapes and using abilities on the environment rather than just on enemies.
It's timed to Kirby's 35th anniversary. Nintendo hasn't named the developer, hasn't given a date beyond spring 2027 (so roughly March to May here), and hasn't put a price on it. There's no Australian store listing yet either. We'll update when Nintendo puts a date on it.
