There are 35 songs at launch. Ubisoft has named a chunk of them and the spread is the point: Mamma Mia by ABBA, It's Tricky by Run-DMC, Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, No Scrubs by TLC, Wannabe by Spice Girls, Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC, Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz, Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and Lil Jon, Danza Kuduro by Don Omar featuring Lucenzo, Manchild by Sabrina Carpenter and NUEVAYoL by Bad Bunny. That is a list built so the adults in the room recognise half of it and the kids recognise the other half.

The new bit is Adventure Mode. You follow Lyra, the daughter of series regular Dr. Gigavolt, through six worlds themed on a decade each, with small activities and rewards along the way and the era's songs to dance to.

Six people can dance locally at once. You can use a phone as the controller instead of buying anything extra, which has been the quiet best feature of this series for years. Party Mode changes the rules each round, and Workout Mode counts calories if that is what you are there for.

There is also a library point worth knowing before you buy. If you own Decades of Hits and any of the 2023 through 2026 editions on the same console, all those songs sit together in one place rather than making you back out and load a different game. Music packs you have bought and anything you get through a Just Dance+ subscription fold in as well.

Ubisoft Paris led development, with work from the Ubisoft studios in Pune, Shanghai, Kyiv and Bucharest. Ubisoft has not published Australian pricing yet, so wishlist it and wait for the storefronts rather than guessing off the overseas numbers.
