The multiplayer update that hit JDM: Japanese Drift Master on PC in July is now on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Gaming Factory rolled it out on 16 September at 11pm AEST, and it brings full crossplay, so console and PC drivers share the same lobbies.
Players can join open lobbies or set up private rooms for up to eight. Once in a session, new events show up on the map, split between grip races, where first across the line wins, and drift races scored on points. Inspecting another driver's profile in the open world opens a one on one touge challenge.
Two new events, the Tofuna Downhill and Uphill, take the multiplayer event count to 17. They come to PC in the same update. Quick chat and voice chat are built in.
Gaming Factory has also rebalanced the economy on every platform. Money from any single player or multiplayer event is up 30 per cent, and the EXP that feeds car and player reputation has been doubled, which should shorten the grind to new cars and tuning parts.
The free car is the FSO Polonez, a Polish classic that the studio describes as an homage. It comes with three body kits: a rally variant, a bosozoku variant and a barnyard tuning look. It is live on all platforms.
Consoles also pick up a batch of fixes that PC already had, including the Koguchi Valley landmarks quest registering properly, fewer invisible collisions for lowered cars, a HUD toggle on the phone screen and a steadier photo mode. Gaming Factory says a livery editor is the next thing coming.
