Hubert is a third-person adventure set on a farm in the northern wilds. Your job is herding a flock of very unhelpful sheep across open country, through bad weather and rough ground, and keeping them together when something out in the trees decides it would rather they weren't.

The perspective is the design. You see the world the way a dog does, through movement, scent and instinct, so tracking a smell across a hillside is a mechanic rather than a cutscene. The studio describes Hubert himself as fluffy and overconfident, which after about ten seconds of watching any real working dog sounds about right.

The other half is Lily, a sharp kid who has just talked the grumpiest farmer in the valley into giving the pair of them a job. The relationship builds through routine and small moments rather than big story beats, and it gets tested as the wolves get closer and Hubert starts feeling the pull of the wild against the flock he is supposed to be protecting.

It is brush-painted and warm to look at, with a quieter and stranger edge once you get past the fence line. Brocap Studio is both developing and publishing. There is a free demo on Steam now, the game supports fourteen languages with full English voice acting, and it works with Remote Play on TV.

Steam lists 12 October 2026. The PlayStation 5 version is confirmed for October, but the exact date has not been announced yet, and neither has pricing on either platform.

If you want to see it running before then, the team is at Tokyo Game Show from 17 to 21 September at Makuhari Messe, booth E-56 on the 2F level above halls 9, 10 and 11. Hubert was picked for the show's Selected Indie 80 out of more than 1,500 submissions.
