Funcom's survival MMO lands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 22 September. Console players get everything the PC version has picked up since launch, rather than the version that shipped last year.
Funcom's wording is that new console players and both new and returning PC players will land on Arrakis with access to everything added and improved since the PC launch, plus everything arriving in September. That September batch includes a single player mode and the final Act of Book One, going out to every platform the same day.
Deluxe and Ultimate buyers start on 17 September, five days ahead. Funcom describes it as a head start for people who purchase those editions, and the PlayStation Australia store lists the five day head start as a preorder bullet, so the wording may tighten up once it is out. Either way, Deluxe and Ultimate get in on the 17th.
Australian pricing is up on both stores. On PlayStation it is $75.95 standard, $105.95 Deluxe and $135.95 Ultimate. On Xbox it is AU$74.95, AU$104.95 and AU$134.95. It is on Xbox Game Pass from 22 September, and the Xbox Australia listing has it under the Premium tier rather than Ultimate, so check which one you are on before you assume it is included. Xbox Play Anywhere is supported. It is rated MA 15+ here.
Cross-play is the sore spot. At launch there is no console to console or PC to console cross-play, only Xbox to Microsoft Store. Funcom says full cross-play is coming after launch but has not put a date on it.
Physical copies in Australia and New Zealand are distributed by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. There is also a Filmic Archive DLC arriving on 22 September at US$9.99.
To go with the console date, Funcom put out a featurette with John Hudson, the UK Military's Chief Survival Instructor, walking through how realistic surviving Arrakis actually is. He goes through hydration, shelter, exposure, sandstorms and how a group manages resources, and calls the weather sculpted rock formations incredibly realistic. It is a better watch than the usual launch trailer.
