Everything worth playing this September. The ten biggest games out this month, everything free with a Game Pass or PS Plus sub, and the top five landing on each of PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and PC.
The ten biggest games launching in September, wherever you play. It's a heavy month: a new Onimusha, Wolverine, a new Fire Emblem, two big sequels on the 24th and the Witcher 3 remaster to close it out. Roughly in date order. Dates are the confirmed Australian release dates as they stand, and they can still move.
If you already pay for Game Pass or PS Plus, this lot costs nothing extra. Five on Game Pass worth loading, and five on PS Plus, four of which are September's monthly games and only claimable between 1 September and 5 October. Heads up on both sides: Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells and Spiritfarer leave Game Pass on 15 September, and Madden NFL 26, Persona 5 Tactica and the Shadowrun trilogy leave the PS Plus catalogue the same day.
The five that matter most on PS5 this month, ranked. Two of them you can't get anywhere else, and one of them you can't get on Xbox.
The five biggest on Series X|S this month, ranked. Two are day-one or free-upgrade, which is the Xbox way of doing things.
The five biggest on Switch and Switch 2 this month, ranked. Switch 2 gets the exclusive, plus three proper third-party ports that the old Switch never could have run.
The five biggest on PC this month, ranked, leaning to the ones that are PC-first or PC-best. One massive DLC, one Early Access graduation, and one small thing worth your lunch break.
